Instructions For Burning Your Beeswax Pillar Candle

Instructions For Burning Your Beeswax Pillar Candle

When burned properly our pure beeswax pillar candles will provide many hours of warmth and light with their gentle amber glow.

For the best possible burning experience, follow our simple tips and tricks below!

1. Light the wick as close to the base of your candle as possible.

Hold the lighter steady for a moment until a small pool of wax has formed. This will ensure your wick stays strong and your candle burns well.

2. Depending upon its width, your pillar candle must be burned for a minimum of 3 - 4 hours at a time.

Be sure to burn your candle until the melt pool reaches as close to the edge of the candle as possible. This step is important as it will ensure the longevity of your candle and avoid tunneling.

3. Burn your candle in a draft-free environment away from fans or open windows.

This will help to prevent dripping, smoking, and uneven burning.

4. To extinguish your candle flame, use a butter knife or something long and slender to bend the wick into the wax.

Once the flame is out, straighten the wick so it stands upright. This age old trick coats the wick in wax, keeping it strong for its next burn.

5. Before relighting your candle, trim the wick to 5 - 7mm.

Trimming the wick regularly will significantly increase the overall burn time of your candle. If your candle flame is too large, extinguish the flame and trim your wick!

6. Your candle will need a ‘hug’ from time to time.

Once your candle has been burning long enough to soften the outer wax (around the melt pool) and has reached a depth of approx. 2cm, very gently push the top edges of the soft wax inward towards the flame.

This will allow the outer edges of your pillar candle to melt and ensure adequate oxygen flow to the flame, as well as the best wax consumption. Just be mindful not to overdo it as doing so may drown the wick.

With their long burn time beeswax pillar candles are perfectly suited for ceremonies, women's circles, wellness retreats and long rituals.

They also make the perfect adition to mother blessing ceremonies, birth altars or to simply adorn your sacred space!

TIP: Avoid grouping pillar candles too close together as the heat from one candle will affect the others!

Above all else, enjoy being present with the calming warm glow of your burning candle!

Beeswax Candle Safety Instructions

Always burn your candle on a level surface, ensuring it is both fire-safe and heat-proof. Ceramic, stone, tile and heatproof glass are all great options.

Consider where to place your candle before lighting it. Ensure there are no flammable items that can come into contact with the flame; Paper, fabric, curtains, etc.

If you are burning your candle in a group setting, consider the placement of your candle. Ensure guests have plenty of room to move freely without knocking the candle over, catching something a light or burning themselves.

Stay present with your lit candle at all times.

Please use extra caution when burning botanical and resin candles as there may be instances where resins and botanicals catch alight, resulting in a much larger flame than usual.

If this occurs, use a butter knife to carefully remove the resin or botanical away from the flame.

And of course, keep your children and pets safe by ensuring you lit candles are out of reach!

By following these tips and tricks, you can ensure your beeswax candle burns evenly and safely for many hours.
